Saint Paul (trfnews.i234.me) – A late-night party near a Saint Paul park erupted in gunfire early Saturday, leaving two men wounded and police scrambling after more than 30 shell casings were found at the scene.
Just after midnight, officers were called to Regions Hospital, where the two victims arrived separately in private vehicles, suffering from non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.
Investigators traced the shooting to Central Avenue West and Avon Street, where witnesses described a party before chaos broke out. Officers recovered over 30 spent bullet casings, and reports suggest shots were fired from two different firearms.
A Minnesota State Patrol helicopter assisted in the response, scanning the area from above. Due to the large number of people connected to the incident showing up at Regions Hospital, the facility was briefly placed on lockdown, which has since been lifted.
A third man with a gunshot wound arrived at Regions earlier that night. Police determined his injuries were unrelated to the party shooting and occurred near Euclid Street around 11:30 p.m.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains active.
