Rural Thief River Falls Garage Fire Causes $30K Loss
Thief River Falls (trfnews.i234.me) — A fire destroyed a detached garage Monday afternoon in rural Thief River Falls.
No injuries were reported.
The fire was reported at 1:58 p.m. Monday at Walter Suronen’s detached garage. The property is located at 10308 180th St. N.E.
According to the City of Thief River Falls, emergency crews responded after the fire was reported.
Garage Roof Was Caving In
When firefighters arrived, the garage was already heavily damaged.
The roof had started to cave in by the time crews reached the scene. Firefighters worked to control the fire and protect the surrounding area.
The detached garage and its contents were destroyed in the fire.
Damage Estimated at $30,000
The total loss was estimated at $30,000.
That estimate included the garage and items stored inside it.
Firefighters remained at the scene for about two hours. Crews checked the area and worked to make sure the fire was fully out.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Officials have not released more details about what may have started the fire.
