Roseau County (trfnews.i234.me) — A Roseau, Minnesota, man is facing multiple criminal charges, including a felony count of threats of violence, following a domestic incident earlier this month.
According to court documents, Steven Budziszewski of Roseau is charged with felony threats of violence and misdemeanor domestic assault. The charges stem from a police response to an apartment in Roseau on November 3rd.
Investigators say the female victim reported that Budziszewski attempted to place her in a chokehold. A witness also told officers they overheard him on the phone threatening the victim, allegedly saying, “How would you like it if I killed you while you were sleeping?”
Authorities report that Budziszewski also allegedly blocked the victim from leaving the apartment during the confrontation. He was taken into custody and later charged in Roseau County District Court.
The felony charge of threats of violence in Minnesota can carry a prison sentence of up to five years and a $10,000 fine. For more on how Minnesota law defines this offense, visit the Minnesota Statutes §609.713.
