ROSEAU COUNTY, Minn. (trfnews.i234.me) — A Warroad man faces a felony drug charge after a traffic stop in Roseau, according to a criminal complaint. The charge was filed in Minnesota District Court.

Chimmy Keomany, 43, of Warroad, is charged with fifth-degree drug possession. Court records say the case was filed in Roseau County. Prosecutors allege he had methamphetamine in his pocket after officers stopped an SUV on March 9, 2026.

Traffic stop led to arrest

The complaint says the stop happened near Center Street and Highway 89 in Roseau. Authorities said the SUV had a badly cracked windshield. The vehicle then pulled into the Dollar General parking lot.

According to the complaint, two passengers got out and walked toward the store. They returned after being told to get back inside. Court records say the driver was Vilayvan Coleman, 40.

The complaint says Keomany was in the back seat. Authorities said he gave his name and showed identification. The complaint says officers confirmed an outstanding warrant for him. He was then arrested on that warrant.

Complaint details the drug allegation

During a search, authorities said they found a small bag in Keomany’s pants pocket. The complaint says the bag held suspected methamphetamine. Authorities later weighed the substance at 0.56 grams.

The complaint says a field test was positive for methamphetamine. The charge was filed under Minnesota Statute 152.025. That law covers fifth-degree drug possession cases.

A conviction can carry up to five years in prison. It can also bring a $10,000 fine. A complaint is only an accusation. A charge does not mean guilt.

Prior record listed in court filing

The complaint lists earlier drug convictions for Keomany. Those entries include two fifth-degree possession cases. The filing also lists a 2024 second-degree drug sale conviction.

The same complaint says Coleman had a sign-and-release warrant. It also says her driving status was suspended in Minnesota. Those details were included in the same court filing.

The case will move through the Minnesota Judicial Branch unless it is resolved sooner. Online court records can change as a case moves forward. Readers can also review updates from the Minnesota State Patrol.
