Roseau Man Arrested on DWI Charges After Late-Night Traffic Stop

Thief River Falls, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – On June 20 at 1:08 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop in the 1300 block of Dale St. Andrew Douglas Magnusson, 36, of Roseau, was arrested and charged with second-degree refusal to submit to a chemical test, third-degree DWI, and a parking violation for parallel parking with no curb.

According to the complaint, Magnusson exhibited slurred speech and bloodshot, watery eyes. The officer detected an odor of alcohol coming from Magnusson. When questioned about alcohol consumption that evening, Magnusson declined to answer without his attorney present. He failed several field sobriety tests but refused further testing without legal counsel.

An open, half-full can of White Claw Hard Seltzer was reportedly found behind the center console in the back seat of his vehicle. Magnusson later declined to take a breath test. The complaint noted that he had a prior DWI conviction in December 2016.
