Roseau County (trfnews.i234.me) – A Warroad man is facing major drug charges after authorities say he attempted to retrieve a package containing more than 250 grams of methamphetamine.

According to court documents, investigators with the Roseau County Sheriff’s Office and the Pine to Prairie Drug Task Force intercepted a suspicious package at the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport on July 22, 2025. The package, which was bound for Warroad, was addressed to 35-year-old Sean Michael Ganyo. A field test confirmed the package contained methamphetamine weighing approximately 263 grams.

Authorities attempted a controlled delivery to Ganyo’s residence, but no one retrieved the package. The following day, officers coordinated a pickup at the Marvin Home Center in Warroad. Undercover officers say Ganyo arrived on a four-wheeler and collected the package before being arrested outside the store.

During questioning, Ganyo reportedly denied knowing the package contained meth, claiming he was expecting a shipment from an online retailer. A subsequent search of his vehicle uncovered hypodermic needles and a small amount of suspected methamphetamine and MDMA.

Court records show Ganyo has prior drug convictions, including first-degree sale and fifth-degree possession in Roseau County. He is now charged with first-degree possession and first-degree sale of methamphetamine, both felonies carrying potential decades-long prison sentences.
