Roseau County (trfnews.i234.me) – A Warroad man is facing multiple charges after authorities say he assaulted a household member, damaged property, and interfered with an emergency call during a domestic incident.

According to court documents, on July 26, 2025, at about 10:10 p.m., Roseau County deputies responded to a residence on 400th Street near Warroad for a report of an active domestic assault. Dispatch reported the 911 call had abruptly ended, and the caller sounded fearful.

When law enforcement arrived, they detained 42-year-old Joseph Harold Husbands, who was reportedly on probation with conditions prohibiting alcohol use. Deputies noted the odor of alcohol coming from him at the scene.

The victim alleged that Husbands grabbed her by the hair, broke a door, and prevented her from completing a 911 call by damaging her phone.

Husbands is charged with third-degree property damage, interference with a 911 call, and fifth-degree domestic assault. Court records show he also has pending charges in another Roseau County case and is currently under supervision for a 2021 conviction.
