Roseau County, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – A Roseau man is facing several charges after a violent incident at a rural residence earlier this month. According to new court records, Brandon Keith Lund of Roseau has been charged with one felony count of threats of violence and two misdemeanor counts of domestic assault.
The case began on November 13, when a Roseau County deputy was sent to a rural property for a reported domestic situation. The first victim told the deputy that Lund had punched them in the head and chest during a dispute. The victim said the assault caused pain and fear. The deputy noted the victim’s statements and continued gathering information from others in the home.
A second victim reported an even more serious claim. According to the complaint, Lund threatened to “blow the victim’s head off” during the incident. The victim said the threat was direct and caused immediate concern for personal safety. Threats of this nature meet the standard set under Minnesota law for a felony threat of violence charge. More details about that statute can be found through the Minnesota Office of the Revisor of Statutes at revisor.mn.gov.
The deputy’s report states that the victims appeared shaken and afraid. The report says the situation at the property was unstable before law enforcement arrived. Deputies then worked to secure the scene and separate those involved. After gathering statements and evidence, the case was forwarded to the Roseau County Attorney’s Office for formal charges.
Lund now faces one felony and two misdemeanor counts. If convicted on the felony charge, he could face significant penalties under Minnesota sentencing guidelines. Details about felony penalties in Minnesota are available at mncourts.gov. Lund will appear in court at a later date. Court hearings and updates will be listed in public court calendars when scheduled.
This case remains under review. Additional information may become available through future filings or court proceedings. Roseau County officials remind the public that charges are allegations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
