Roseau County (trfnews.i234.me) – Cooper James Dahlen, 21, of Roseau, appeared in court Monday, July 7, after being charged with felony third-degree sale of a narcotic—but was released without monetary bail.
According to investigators with the Pine to Prairie Drug Task Force, a confidential informant purchased five grams of methamphetamine for $300 from Dahlen in August 2024. The charges, however, were not formally filed until June 2025.
Despite facing a potential 20-year maximum sentence, state sentencing guidelines suggest a sentence between 21 to 68 months, based on criminal history.
At his initial court appearance, Dahlen was assigned a public defender. His next hearing, a Rule 8 initial appearance, is set for July 14.
