Pennington County (trfnews.i234.me) — Aaron Noel Lewis, age 47, of Grand Forks, North Dakota, is facing three misdemeanor charges in Pennington County for allegedly violating a court-issued Order for Protection (OFP) multiple times between May 9 and May 15, 2025.

According to the criminal complaint, Lewis is accused of unlawfully contacting the protected party, referred to as XX, by phone and email on several occasions, despite being served with an active OFP on May 8, 2025, by the Grand Forks County Sheriff’s Office.

  • On May 9, Lewis allegedly called XX using the name “Alex,” claiming he was trying to reach a friend named “George.” When questioned by Officer Erickson, Lewis first claimed it was an accident, then later admitted to making the call.

  • On May 14, XX reported receiving an email from Lewis where he identified himself by name.

  • On May 15, despite knowing it was prohibited, Lewis admitted to sending yet another email to XX, claiming he was concerned about an approaching storm and the safety of the children involved.

Later that evening, XX reported receiving four emails within two hours from Lewis, and also reported being followed by Lewis in his vehicle. At one point, he allegedly stopped on the road facing XX, prompting her to contact law enforcement.

When confronted, Lewis reportedly stated he was aware of the protective order but “doesn’t care.”

Law enforcement officials noted the escalating pattern of contact and Lewis’s disregard for legal restrictions, prompting a warrant request for his arrest to prevent ongoing harassment.
