good morning and welcome to und’s weather update my name is lauren larson and let’s get right into these headlines taking a look at the beginning of the week it’s going to be nice and warm here in grand forks but it won’t last long we do have a cool down expected on wednesday due to a cold front coming through the area and hazel loft as we go throughout the day taking a look outside you can see the haze is not affecting the visibility here on the surface but it certainly will be affecting visibility at those higher altitudes however we are going to have still a fairly nice clear day here in grand forks 37 starting off your temperature this morning and mostly sunny outside visibility at 10 miles and calm winds as we start our day looking at the national temperatures you can see miami starting this morning at 83 degrees 79 in new orleans and further out west 56 in portland and 64 in los angeles temperatures here in the region 43 in fargo fairly similar to grand forks again 43 in pierre 47 in rapid city but they will not stay there for long they are expecting a major warm-up today looking at the national satellite and radar you can see tropical storm sally here sitting in the gulf predicted to swing a little bit further west hitting the coast in louisiana and mississippi our future cast here in the area you can see the warm front coming through grand forks bringing us those nice 70 temperatures today not lasting long with the cold front swinging through on tuesday however those colder temperatures will be delayed into wednesday as we are expecting to still be in the 70s on tuesday today here in grand forks a high of 72 we are of course going to be warm and sunny but that haze is going to be aloft with winds out of the south southeast at 10 to 15 miles an hour gusting up to 20 miles an hour today here in the region 74 for a high in fargo quite similar to grand forks but look at these temperatures down in south dakota 85 in aberdeen 95 in pierre and 94 over in rapid city tomorrow in grand forks is going to be a similar day to today 75 is our high and partly sunny clouds increasing throughout the day and the winds are going to be shifting throughout the day bringing in colder air for wednesday but the winds will be out of the west at five to ten miles an hour taking a look at the seven day forecast you can see warmer temperature temperatures at the beginning of the week cooling down throughout the middle of the week with a possible warm-up during the weekend and i want to draw your attention to these overnight lows of 35 both wednesday and thursday night as we do have a potential for frost on those days thank you for tuning in to und weather update i hope you have a great rest of your day
