Pennington County (trfnews.i234.me) — A Red Lake man is facing charges after authorities say he was caught speeding while driving with a canceled license in Pennington County.
According to a criminal complaint, 23-year-old Brendan David Edward Neadeau has been charged with driving after cancellation, inimical to public safety, a gross misdemeanor, and speeding, a petty misdemeanor.
The incident occurred on July 27, 2025, when a Minnesota State Patrol trooper observed a Chevy Impala traveling 80 mph in a 60 mph zone near the intersection of Center Street East and 240th Avenue SE.
After conducting a traffic stop, the driver was identified as Neadeau. He reportedly told the trooper he had just finished work, was tired, and was speeding to get home.
When asked for a driver’s license, Neadeau stated his license was revoked. A records check showed his driving status was “canceled — inimical to public safety” (IPS). Authorities also discovered an active warrant for his arrest in Beltrami County.
Neadeau was arrested at the scene, searched, and placed in handcuffs. No contraband was found on him. His vehicle was released to a passenger who had arranged for a ride.
If convicted, Neadeau faces up to 364 days in jail and a $3,000 fine on the cancellation charge, along with a possible $300 fine for speeding.
The case remains under review in Pennington County District Court.
