Red Lake Falls Sheriff Report: Arrests, Pursuit

Red Lake Falls (trfnews.i234.me) — Red Lake County deputies handled several calls between September 19 and September 22.

The incidents included arrests, traffic stops, a missing horse and a stolen vehicle pursuit.

Customer Trespassed From Grocery Store

On September 19, management at Brent’s Food Pride reported problems with a customer.

Store officials said the person had been bothering employees.

A deputy responded and trespassed the customer from the property.

The issue was resolved without further reported problems.

That same morning, Thomas David Straabe, 22, of Gully, was cited for speeding.

The stop happened on County Road 7 west of Highway 92.

Deputies responded to a disturbance at an Oklee apartment later September 19.

Investigators allege Ryan Adams Griffith, 44, of Oklee, assaulted his teenage daughter.

Griffith was arrested and taken to the jail in Crookston.

He was booked on a misdemeanor domestic assault allegation.

Fosston Ambulance transported the juvenile to an Essentia emergency room.

Authorities described her injuries as non-life-threatening.

Griffith appeared in court September 21.

He was released under court-ordered conditions, including no contact with the alleged victim.

His next appearance was scheduled for October 23 in Red Lake Falls.

Also September 19, authorities reported the arrest of Deanthony Maurice Gonzalez, 27, of Red Lake.

Red Lake County had an active gross misdemeanor warrant for Gonzalez.

A deputy transported him from Bemidji to the Crookston jail on September 20.

Gonzalez appeared in court the next day.

He was released September 22 to another jurisdiction holding a warrant.

His next Red Lake County court appearance was scheduled for December 4.

On September 21, a Louisville Township resident reported a missing black horse.

The horse had escaped its enclosure and remained missing when the report was issued.

On September 22, Steven Craig Westlund, 54, of Thief River Falls, was cited for speeding.

The stop happened on Third Street Southwest in Red Lake Falls.

Later that evening, a deputy assisted other agencies with a stolen vehicle pursuit.

The vehicle had traveled north on Highway 59 from the Detroit Lakes area.

The pursuit ended after the vehicle crashed in Pennington County.

Authorities said the suspect was apprehended.
