Red Lake Falls, Red Lake County (trfnews.i234.me) A Red Lake Falls man faces a felony theft charge.
Korbyn Charles Dale, 29, is charged in Red Lake County District Court.
What investigators allege
According to the criminal complaint, a local woman loaned Dale her red Toyota Celica.
She said he needed the car to travel to Deer River, Minnesota.
She told deputies he agreed to return it by Sunday night, February 1, 2026.
She said she needed the car to transport her daughter.
Deputies responded on February 3, 2026.
The call came from the 200 block of 7th Street NE in Red Lake Falls.
The woman reported the vehicle as stolen.
The complaint says she shared text messages with investigators.
Those messages started on February 2, 2026.
She asked several times for the car to be returned.
Dale allegedly gave different excuses.
He mentioned taking a nap and going to a casino.
On February 3, the complaint says Dale texted that he was “on his way”.
The woman then said she would contact law enforcement.
Investigators say Dale replied with a threatening message.
He implied the car had been used for a “drug run”.
He later texted, “go find your car or you can stop”.
The complaint says his phone then shut off.

Vehicle recovered and arrest
The Toyota Celica was later located in Itasca County, court records say.
Deputies confirmed the vehicle was seized.
Dale was arrested after the vehicle was found.
He was transported to Tri-County Community Corrections.
