Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office Report 8-18-2027

On the evening of 08/08/24, a Red Lake Falls resident reported a theft of an ATV from their residence. A Red Lake County deputy was able to locate the ATV at another residence in Red Lake Falls. The property was returned to the owner, and an investigation report was sent to the County Attorney for consideration of criminal charges. On 08/15/24, a formal criminal complaint was filed, charging Jaye Allen Pyatte (32) of Red Lake Falls with misdemeanor theft. Mr. Pyatte will be summonsed to appear in Court in Red Lake Falls at a later date.

On the morning of 08/09/24, a Red Lake Falls resident reported their bank account had been compromised by some sort of hacking scam. A Red Lake County deputy assisted them with reporting the issue to their bank. The financial institution was going to cover the victim’s loss and conduct an investigation as well.

On the evening of 08/10/24, Kari Louise Murray (52) of Champlin, MN was cited for speeding on Hwy. #59 south of Brooks.

On the afternoon of 08/11/24, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of two pit bulls running loose, in the city of Red Lake Falls, and they were acting aggressively. A Red Lake County deputy located the dogs and returned them to their owner. The dogs’ owner was counseled and warned for the ordinance violation.

On the morning of 08/12/24, the Oklee Locker Plant reported a cow had escaped and was running loose in the city of Oklee. Red Lake County law enforcement assisted the locker plant staff in locating and neutralizing the animal.

On the afternoon of 08/14/24, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report concerning a child protection matter in Red Lake Falls. Red Lake County law enforcement referred the matter to Red Lake County Social Services for further investigation.

On the afternoon of 08/14/24, an Emardville Township resident reported some sort of predator had killed one of their calves. They were referred to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources to look into their claim.

On the morning of 08/15/24, Arick Walter Broden (42) of Erskine was cited for speeding on CR. #49 east of Hwy. #32.

On the afternoon of 08/15/24, a Red Lake Falls resident reported damage to the window on a vehicle that was parked in their yard. They claimed the window was broken sometime in the past couple of weeks. A Red Lake County deputy went to the residence and looked at the damage. It appeared that a rock was thrown through the window by a lawnmower.

On the evening of 08/15/24, a Red Lake County deputy responded to a report of a disturbance at a Lake Pleasant Township residence. The involved parties were counseled, and the situation was mediated.

On the morning of 08/16/24, Malachi Jewlius Burthwick (20) of Oklee was cited for speeding on Hwy. #92 south of Oklee.

On the morning of 08/16/24, Ryan John Frisch (47) of Moorhead was cited for speeding on CR. #49 east of Hwy. #32.
