On the evening of 01/10/25, the Roseau County Sheriff’s Office reported they had arrested Nathan Wayne Hanson (24) of Red Lake Falls. Red Lake County holds an active misdemeanor warrant for his arrest. Roseau County indicated they also have local charges pending against Mr. Hanson and they will release him once their matters are settled.
On the evening of 01/11/25, Red Lake County deputies were dispatched to a report of a disturbance at a Red Lake Falls residence. It was discovered that individuals were engaged in a verbal argument, but no crimes had been committed. The parties involved were counseled and the situation was mediated.
On the morning of 01/13/25, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a vehicle parked in front of the Unity Bank entrance in Red Lake Falls. A Red Lake County deputy located the owner of the vehicle, and it was moved.
On the afternoon of 01/13/25, Christopher Marvin Pickens (48) of Plummer was arrested in Red Lake Falls for violating the terms of his supervised probation. He was taken to jail in Crookston.
On the afternoon of 01/13/25, William Joseph Langlois (76) of Crookston was cited for speeding on CR. #11 west of Red Lake Falls.
On the morning of 01/14/25, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of horses running loose near CR. #12 in Gervais Township. A Red Lake County deputy responded and was able to get the horses back into their enclosure. The owner, who was at work for the day, was notified of the incident.
On the morning of 01/16/25, two Red Lake County deputies left for Cascade County Montana to transport Stephanie Michele Nipp (56) of Great Falls, MT back to Red Lake County. Red Lake County holds an active warrant for her arrest for felony theft and receiving stolen property. It is alleged that Ms. Nipp swindled the Red Lake County Co-op out of over $570,000 back in the summer of 2024. She will be brought to jail in Crookston on 01/17/25 and will make her first court appearance to face this charge next week.
On 01/17/25, a formal criminal complaint was filed, charging Feather Jo Arlette Garfve (23) of Newfolden with felony theft of a motor vehicle. The criminal complaint alleges Ms. Garfve took a motor vehicle from an individual in Brooks, without consent, back in December of 2024. When questioned by law enforcement, she claimed that she intended to return the vehicle to the owner, but she did not have the vehicle any longer and did not know where it was. The location of that vehicle is still unknown. Ms. Garfve will be summonsed to appear in Court in Red Lake Falls sometime later this month.
