Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office Report 06/13/25

On the afternoon of 06/06/25, a Red Lake Falls resident reported a dog was running loose in their neighborhood and it bit their child. Fortunately, the child was not seriously injured. The owner of the dog, Stuart Dean Altendorf (66) of Red Lake Falls was cited for allowing the dog to run at large and for not licensing the animal with the city.

On the evening of 06/06/25, Michaela Elizabeth Fourstar (30) of Roseau was cited for speeding on CR. #13 west of Red Lake Falls.

On the afternoon of 06/07/25, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of damage to some mailboxes on Hamilton Ave. in Red Lake Falls. That report is still under investigation.

In the early morning hours of 06/08/25, a camper at Voyageur’s View reported their 4-year-old child was missing. The child had disappeared from their tent while they were sleeping. Approximately 10 minutes after the initial report, an Oaks Trailer Court resident reported a young child was on their porch. The dispatcher was able to guide the parent to the residence and the child was safely reunited with their mother.

In the early morning hours of 06/09/25, a passerby reported cattle on roadway near the intersection of CR. #7 and Hwy. #59 south of Brooks. A Red Lake County deputy and a Minnesota State Trooper responded and assisted the owner in getting the cattle back to their enclosure.

In the early morning hours of 06/10/25, an individual reported they struck a deer with their vehicle, and it was severely damaged. A Red Lake County deputy responded to the scene in Red Lake Falls Township. The driver of the vehicle was not injured and the deputy provided assistance in getting the party’s damaged vehicle back to their residence.

On the morning of 06/10/25, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of property damage at a Red Lake Falls apartment building. That matter is still under investigation.

On the morning of 06/10/25, Emergency Response crews in Red Lake County provided an escort for the Rebels Baseball Team as they headed to the State Baseball Tournament. Best of luck at State and Congratulations on a great season!

On the morning of 06/10/25, some vandalism was reported at the Football Field in Plummer. A Red Lake County deputy responded and located some juvenile suspects. They spoke with the suspects and their guardian, and it was agreed they would clean up the mess.

On the afternoon of 06/10/25, the Dollar General Store in Red Lake Falls reported an individual, who had been previously formally trespassed from their property, came into the store. The suspect had left the store prior to the deputy’s arrival, but Sarah May Burthwick (36) of Red Lake Falls was cited for the misdemeanor trespass order violation.

On the evening of 06/10/25, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a calf on CR. #1 west of Plummer. A Red Lake County deputy responded and assisted the owner with getting the calf back into its pen.

On the morning of 06/11/25, a Red Lake Falls resident reported that the previous evening a man who was described as a foreigner, driving a white SUV, stopped at their residence and told them they owed money for unpaid bills. The man told the reporting party to scan a QR Code on a form that he gave to them, and they could find more details about their situation by doing that. The man left their residence without gathering any personal information and the reporting party did not scan the code. This is a scam and the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office urges anyone who receives a visit like this to immediately report it. The matter remains under investigation.

On the afternoon of 06/11/25, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of trespassing in Red Lake Falls Township. A Red Lake County deputy responded and spoke with the involved parties, and the situation was mediated.
