On the afternoon of 01/31/25, a Red Lake Falls resident reported a theft of property. That report is still under investigation.
On the morning of 02/01/25, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a suspicious vehicle and some suspicious activity going on at the park in Plummer. A Red Lake County deputy responded to the scene and found a vehicle occupied by several people. They claimed they were homeless, and they were looking for a place to stay. They were given information on homeless shelters to contact, and they left the area.
On the afternoon of 02/02/25, a Red Lake County deputy assisted with a property exchange in Red Lake Falls.
On the morning of 02/03/25, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report that a vehicle has struck a gas pump at the Red Lake County Co-op in Red Lake Falls some time over the weekend. A Red Lake County deputy assisted and found the individual who had struck the pump with their vehicle. The damage was not intentional, and the matter will be handled civilly between the parties involved.
On the evening of 02/03/25, a Gervais Township resident requested assistance in dealing with an unruly teenage child. A Red Lake County deputy spoke with the reporting party and advice was given.
Around midnight on 02/04/25, Red Lake County deputies responded to a report of a disturbance at an Oklee residence. When they arrived, one of the parties involved had left, and the remaining party was not cooperative with the investigation. The deputies counseled the reporting party, and it appeared the matter sorted itself out, so no further action was taken.
On the evening of 02/04/25, Red Lake County deputies responded to a disturbance in Brooks. A child was acting unruly, and the deputies were able to counsel the parties involved and mediate the situation.
On the morning of 02/05/25, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a vehicle in the ditch along CR. #11 west of Red Lake Falls. A Red Lake County deputy responded and found the stranded individual had run out of gas. It was also discovered that the lone occupant of that vehicle had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant for their arrest out of Pennington County. Jamal Dominque Lewis (32) of Thief River Falls was placed under arrest and turned over to Pennington County authorities.
On the morning of 02/05/25, a Red Lake Falls resident reported some suspicious and possibly fraudulent activity in their bank account. That report remains under investigation.
On the afternoon of 02/05/25, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a vehicle stuck in a snowbank along 7th Ave. NE in Red Lake Falls. A Red Lake County responded to the scene and found that the vehicle was unoccupied. They contacted the owner, who was aware that their vehicle was stuck, and they advised the deputy they were working on getting it out of there soon.
On the evening of 02/05/25, Red Lake County deputies executed a search warrant at a Red Lake Falls residence as part of an ongoing investigation. Items were seized, but nobody was arrested. This investigation remains open and active.
In the early morning hours of 02/06/25, a vehicle was ticketed for violating the winter parking ordinance on Main Ave. in Red Lake Falls.
On the morning of 02/06/25, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a vehicle stuck in the ditch along CR. #13 west of Red Lake Falls. A Red Lake County deputy responded and found the vehicle was occupied. There was no damage, nor was anyone injured. The occupant told the deputy they had assistance coming and they would be fine waiting on their own.
On the morning of 02/06/25, Red Lake County law enforcement officers assisted members of Security State Bank with an eviction of a residence in Oklee. The tenants were removed from the home without incident and the bank took possession of the property.
