Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office News Release 12-14-2024

News Release – 12/13/2024

On the afternoon of 12/06/24, the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office reported they had arrested Feather Jo Arlette Garfve (23) of Karlstad. Red Lake County held an active misdemeanor warrant for her arrest. Ms. Garfve posted $100 cash bail to satisfy the warrant, and she was released from custody. She is scheduled to appear in Court in Red Lake Falls on 12/18/24.

On the afternoon of 12/06/24, Red Lake County deputies and Minnesota State Troopers responded to a report of a School Bus that sideswiped a car in Brooks. The damage to the vehicles involved was minor and there were no injuries. The Minnesota State Patrol is handling the crash investigation.

On the afternoon of 12/07/24, a Red Lake County deputy responded to a two-vehicle crash at an intersection on CR. #14 in Terrebonne Township. The vehicles were substantially damaged, but none of the occupants were injured. Robert Allen Olson (64) of Blackduck was cited for failure to yield.

On 12/07/24, Kimberly Jo Knutson (47) of Red Lake Falls and Dawn Rae Burthwick (36) of Red Lake Falls were both cited for misdemeanor disorderly conduct. These charges were the result of an investigation into a disturbance at a Red Lake Falls residence on the evening of 11/29/24. Both defendants will be summonsed to appear in court in Red Lake Falls in the coming weeks.

On the morning of 12/08/24, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report that a vehicle left the roadway and stuck a sign near the bottom of the hill in Red Lake Falls, and the vehicle had left the scene. A Red Lake County deputy responded and located the suspect vehicle a few blocks south of the scene on Main Ave. Investigation revealed that the driver, Justin William Kugler (19) of Rothsay, was intoxicated. He was arrested, taken to jail in Crookston and was booked for misdemeanor DWI. Mr. Kugler was released from custody the following day and will be summonsed to appear in court in Red Lake Falls next month.

On the afternoon of 12/08/24, Alicia Rae Timm (35) of Red Lake Falls was cited for misdemeanor driving after revocation on Main Ave. in Red Lake Falls.

On the afternoon of 12/08/24, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report about a dog running loose on the southwest side of Red Lake Falls. A Red Lake County deputy responded, the dog was returned home, and the owner, Daniel Murphy Saunders (34) of Red Lake Falls was cited for the city ordinance violation.

On the afternoon of 12/08/24, Adrian Sil Va (42) of Chicago, IL was cited for misdemeanor driving after revocation on Hwy. #32 north of Red Lake Falls.

On the afternoon of 12/09/24, a Red Lake County deputy responded to a report of an individual attempting to stop passersby on CR. #10. The adult male had been staying in a camper in Equality Township. The camper did not have any heat. The deputy provided assistance and helped him find a more suitable place to stay for the night.

On 12/12/24, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report about a child welfare concern. That report remains under investigation.

On 12/13/24, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a vulnerable adult possibly getting financially exploited. That case is still under investigation.
