Polk County ( trfnews.i234.me ) – A Bagley woman is facing new charges after allegedly threatening another woman in Gully on June 25. Court records show that Jodi Corrine Martine has been charged with felony threats of violence and misdemeanor assault with intent to cause fear.
According to the criminal complaint, a Polk County deputy was dispatched to Gully after receiving a report of threats. A female victim stated that her son was outside doing yard work when Martine approached her, screaming accusations of child abuse. The victim reported that Martine threatened to kill her and said she would shove a shovel down her throat.
Authorities say Martine left the scene but was later identified and charged. The case highlights ongoing public safety concerns in rural communities where disputes can quickly escalate. Prosecutors are pursuing the felony charge due to the violent nature of the threat.
In addition to this case, Martine is already facing pending charges of drug possession and fleeing an officer on foot. Those charges remain active in the Minnesota court system. A conviction for felony threats of violence carries the possibility of a significant prison term.
The court will schedule further hearings to determine the next steps in the case. Residents in the area are encouraged to contact law enforcement if they observe threatening or dangerous behavior in their communities.
