Polk County (trfnews.i234.me) — A Climax, Minnesota man is facing two gross misdemeanor charges after a shocking late-night ATV crash ended with blood alcohol test results showing a .277 BAC — more than three times the legal limit.

On March 31, 2025, just before midnight, Trooper Taylor Znajda of the MN State Patrol – Thief River Falls was dispatched to a crash near 252nd Street SW and 355th Avenue SW in Fisher Township. At the scene, authorities found Jacob Benjamin Larson, 23, injured beside a wrecked Honda Sportrax 400EX ATV that had veered off-road and rolled.

Trooper Znajda observed that Larson had bloodshot eyes, smelled of alcohol, and was showing memory loss. A breath test revealed a shocking .277 BAC. Later, a hospital blood test confirmed .23 BAC.

Larson’s license had already been revoked in February for a prior DWI in Pennington County. He now faces two counts of 2nd-degree DWI in Polk County District Court, based on his revoked license and high alcohol concentration.
