The Northwest Regional Corrections Center reported the arrest of the following

Issac Daniel Islas, 22, of Grand Forks, for making Terroristic Threats

Thomas Jonathan Vasilas, 32, of Alexandria, Virginia, for Domestic Assault

The Crookston Fire Department responded to the following calls on 1/20/25:

At 6:56 a.m., CFD responded to a 2 vehicle accident on 6th St. Crews removed a person from a vehicle and cleared the scene.

At 8:00 a.m., CFD responded to a vehicle fire at North Acres Estates. Crews extinguished the fire and protected the trailer on the property.

At 4:38 p.m., CFD responded to the 2900 block of University Ave. for a person trapped in an elevator. Crews helped free the person from the elevator and cleared the scene.

At 4:47 p.m., CFD responded to a 2-vehicle accident at the intersection of Elm and 4th. Crews assisted with clearing the roadway. Both vehicles were driven away from the scene.

At 4:50 p.m., CFD responded to the 1300 block of University Ave. after a reported smell of smoke. The smell was originally believed to come from an ice machine, but crews that inspected the appliance found nothing wrong with it. The ice machine was unplugged and reported to maintenance workers.
