Police Arrest Woman After Drug-Related Traffic Stop on Main Avenue

Thief River Falls, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – On Nov. 2 at about 2:19 a.m., police performed a traffic stop along Main Avenue. Kristie Jo Kampa, 50, no city listed, has been charged with felony fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance – second or more, and misdemeanor fourth-degree DWI – under the influence of a controlled substance. She was arrested.

According to the complaint, Kampa allegedly failed field sobriety tests. When asked, she said she had last used methamphetamine two days earlier. Inside the vehicle, the police investigator and the officer allegedly found a bag containing a glass pipe, other drug paraphernalia, and three baggies with a crystal substance. The bag was within the driver’s reach.

A coin pouch was found on the floor behind the passenger seat. It contained a small bag with a crystal-like substance. The pipe and baggies tested positive for meth. The four bags weighed 5.2 grams in their original packaging. Kampa later complied with a search warrant for a blood sample. The complaint indicated that Kampa has been convicted of felony fifth-degree controlled substance crime in the past.
