Pine River Man Charged In Knife Threat Case
PINE RIVER, Minn. (trfnews.i234.me) — A Pine River man is facing three felony charges after a reported domestic dispute involving knives in Cass County.
Jeremy Ron Siltman, 44, of Pine River, is charged in Cass County District Court with second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon. He is also charged with two counts of threats of violence.
The case was filed in Minnesota’s 9th Judicial District under court file number 11-CR-26-743. Court records can be searched through Minnesota Court Records Online.
Charges Filed In Cass County
According to the criminal complaint, the incident happened on May 28, 2026, at about 9:56 p.m. Deputies were called to a home on Division Street West in Pine River.
Dispatch reported that a man had a knife and was threatening people. The reporting parties had left the home and later met law enforcement in Backus.

Complaint Details Knife Allegations
The complaint says LLR had driven DMM to the address to pick up a four-wheeler. When they arrived, Siltman allegedly came out of a shed.
LLR told investigators Siltman walked toward them with one hand behind his back. Siltman then allegedly grabbed LLR by the throat.
The complaint says Siltman revealed a knife and told LLR he would kill him. LLR said he feared he would be stabbed.
LLR told investigators he broke free from Siltman’s grasp. The complaint says Siltman then stepped back and dropped the knife.
LLR described that knife as being at least 12 inches long.
Second Knife Alleged
The complaint says Siltman later appeared to calm down. He allegedly allowed LLR and DMM to continue getting the four-wheeler.
Investigators allege Siltman then became upset again. The complaint says he got another knife from his truck.
LLR described the second knife as about three or four inches long. He said Siltman again threatened to kill him.
DMM told investigators she heard a separate threat directed at her. She said Siltman made a statement about using a shovel to bury her.
A witness identified as Astin told investigators he saw Siltman with a knife. The complaint says the witness believed it was thrown near the back of the trailer house.
Possible Penalties
Second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon is listed under Minnesota Statute 609.222. The charge carries up to seven years in prison, a $14,000 fine, or both.
Threats of violence is listed under Minnesota Statute 609.713. Each count carries up to five years in prison, a $10,000 fine, or both.
Siltman is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
