Pennington County (trfnews.i234.me) — Two people were hurt Thursday morning in a crash on Highway 1 in Reiner Township.
The Minnesota State Patrol said a minivan hit a sheriff’s office squad that was blocking a lane.
The squad was blocking a lane
The crash happened at the intersection of Highway 1 and 400th Avenue Northeast, the patrol said.
A Pennington County sheriff’s deputy was blocking the eastbound lane due to an earlier crash.
A 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe squad was in the lane at the time, according to the report.

Van collided with the squad
Amy Jean Johnson, 41, of Thief River Falls, was driving a 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan.
The patrol said she was traveling east on Highway 1.
The report said the van collided with the squad near the Pennington and Beltrami county line.
The highway was listed as snowy and icy at the time.
Two people were taken to the hospital
Johnson suffered a non-life-threatening injury, the patrol said.
A 32-year-old Pennington County sheriff’s deputy also had a non-life-threatening injury.
Both were taken to Sanford Medical Center in Thief River Falls, the patrol said.
Seat belt details
The report said Johnson was wearing a seat belt.

The State Patrol was dispatched at 10:06 a.m. Thursday, according to the report.
The Pennington County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation also provided help.
