Pennington County — TRF Woman High on THC Tried to Crash Head-On, Said She Was Jesus

Pennington County (trfnews.i234.me) — In a terrifying incident that unfolded on March 21, 2025, Michelle Marie Holter, 50, of Thief River Falls, has been charged with multiple crimes including felony fleeing a peace officer, felony second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon, misdemeanor reckless driving, fourth-degree DWI – controlled substance, and petty misdemeanor speeding after a high-speed pursuit and crash.

Authorities say Holter, extremely impaired by Delta-9 THC drinks, intentionally drove into oncoming traffic at 90 mph, nearly killing 48-year-old Dale Westerlund and his passenger. She reportedly told police she “was supposed to die that day” and heard voices saying she was Jesus Christ.

After striking the victims’ truck and a railroad arm, Holter was trapped in her vehicle and required medical intervention. She was airlifted in critical condition. Inside a nearby trash can, officers found 12 empty THC drink containers, with witnesses claiming she drinks up to 72 a day.

A warrant for her arrest has now been issued following her release from the hospital.
