Pennington County Pileup: Three-Vehicle Crash at Thief River Falls Intersection

Thief River Falls, Minnesota (trfnews.i234.me)On the morning of April 14, 2025, at approximately 7:58 a.m., a three-vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of First Street and Markley Avenue in Thief River Falls. According to police reports, Larry Richter Jr. of Thief River Falls was driving a 1994 Dodge Ram Van southbound on Markley Avenue when he entered the intersection and struck a 2017 GMC Sierra driven by Terilynn Averill, also of Thief River Falls. The impact caused Averill’s vehicle to spin and collide with a 2025 Chevy Traverse driven by Joni Skjerven, another Thief River Falls resident.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported at the scene. However, Richter was cited for failure to yield the right of way.
