Parkers Prairie DWI Case Cites 0.23 BAC
OTTER TAIL COUNTY (trfnews.i234.me) — A St. Cloud man faces two DWI charges after an incident near Parkers Prairie.
Alexander Michael Bui, 32, was charged in Otter Tail County District Court. Both charges are gross misdemeanors.
The charges include third-degree DWI for allegedly operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.
He also faces third-degree DWI for an alcohol level of 0.08 or higher.
Each charge carries a maximum sentence of 364 days in jail. Each also carries a possible $3,000 fine.
Driver Reported Asleep
The case began at about 5 p.m. on June 21, 2026.
Authorities received a report about a vehicle parked near County Highway 46.
The vehicle was stopped on a road approach near Parkers Prairie, according to the complaint.
An officer arrived and found a man asleep in the driver’s seat.
The vehicle’s radio was playing at a high volume, the complaint states.
The officer reportedly yelled and shook the man’s arm before he awoke.
Bui allegedly had red and glassy eyes after waking. Authorities also reported smelling an alcoholic drink.

Breath Test Result Alleged
Bui allegedly told the officer that he had consumed alcohol earlier that morning.
He then completed field sobriety testing, according to the court filing.
The complaint says those tests produced further signs of possible impairment.
Authorities arrested Bui and transported him to the Otter Tail County Detention Facility.
He later completed a breath test after receiving Minnesota’s breath test advisory.
The test allegedly showed a blood alcohol concentration of 0.23 at 7:17 p.m.
That result is nearly three times Minnesota’s general driving limit of 0.08.
