Hubbard County, Minnesota (trfnews.i234.me) — A driver died in a head-on crash Tuesday on Highway 34, east of Park Rapids.
The crash happened at about 12:10 p.m. It was near County Road 11 and Evening Drive in Henrietta Township.
What we know
The Minnesota State Patrol posted a crash update Tuesday.
Troopers said a 2005 Buick LeSabre was traveling east on Highway 34.
The State Patrol said the Buick crossed the center line. The vehicle then went out of control.
Troopers said the Buick struck a westbound 2007 Chevy Colorado head-on.
The Buick driver was an 80-year-old woman from Nevis. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her name was not released Tuesday. The State Patrol said it will release her name at noon Wednesday.
The Chevy driver was Noel Francis Sletten, 85, of Park Rapids. He suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Sletten was taken to Sanford Health – Fargo. The report said he was wearing a seat belt.
Airbags deployed in both vehicles, the State Patrol reported. Alcohol was not suspected.

Response and investigation
The road was wet at the time of the crash. Several agencies responded to the scene.
Those agencies included the Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office, Park Fire, and North Ambulance.
The State Patrol did not list a cause in the initial report. It did not explain the lane crossing.
Investigators often review scene marks and vehicle damage. They may also interview witnesses.
