Otter Tail County, MN (trfnews.i234.me)—A tragic incident occurred on Monday evening, April 28, 2025, when a 32-year-old woman from St. Francis, Minnesota, died after fleeing a traffic stop and rear-ending a semi-truck on westbound Interstate 94 near milepost 56 in Buse Township, Otter Tail County.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the driver of a 2016 Buick Enclave fled from officers during a traffic stop. During the pursuit, the vehicle collided with the rear of a 2022 International semi-truck. The driver of the Buick, identified as Jessica Sarah Vaux, died at the scene. The semi-truck driver, Yasin H. Ali, 26, of St. Cloud, was uninjured.
The crash occurred around 7:56 PM on a wet roadway. Vaux was wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision. The incident is under investigation by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office.
