Otter Tail County Man Faces Two DWI Charges

OTTER TAIL COUNTY (trfnews.i234.me) — An Otter Tail County court complaint charges Brenden Joseph Hannan with two gross misdemeanor DWI counts.

The charges follow a traffic stop early Sunday, June 7, 2026.

Two DWI Charges Filed

The complaint was filed in Minnesota’s Seventh Judicial District Court. It lists court file number 56-CR-26-1306.

Hannan is charged with third-degree driving while impaired. He also faces a charge involving an alcohol level of 0.08 or higher.

Each charge carries a maximum sentence of 364 days in jail. Each also carries a possible $3,000 fine.

The complaint says a 911 caller reported two intoxicated men leaving Beach Bum’s bar in a red sedan.

A deputy later saw a red sedan driving aggressively through the bar’s parking lot. The deputy then observed more driving that suggested possible impairment.

The traffic stop began at about 2:07 a.m., according to the complaint.

Breath Tests Reported

The complaint says Hannan had watery, bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. It also says an alcohol odor came from the vehicle.

Hannan reportedly told the deputy he drank one beer about an hour earlier.

Court documents say Hannan completed field sobriety testing. The complaint says the testing showed further signs of impairment.

A preliminary breath test reportedly measured Hannan’s alcohol concentration at 0.145.

He was then arrested on suspicion of driving while impaired.

The complaint says a later DataMaster test measured an alcohol concentration of 0.16. That test was completed at about 3:16 a.m.

Case Remains Pending

Minnesota law bars driving while impaired by alcohol. State law also bans driving with an alcohol concentration of 0.08 or higher.

The complaint says one aggravating factor supported the third-degree DWI charges. It does not detail that factor in the provided statement.

The charges are accusations and do not prove guilt. Hannan is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

Public case information is available through the Minnesota Judicial Branch.
