Otter Tail County (trfnews.i234.me) — A 44-year-old man is facing charges after authorities say he took a family member’s UTV and led deputies on a short pursuit early Friday morning.
Report of Stolen UTV
Court documents say Justin Sheridan allegedly hot-wired the UTV while it was parked inside a garage. Deputies later found him driving on a county highway.

Pursuit Ends on Highway
Authorities say they tried to stop Sheridan, but he kept driving. The chase reached speeds of 45 to 50 mph. About an hour after the first report, Sheridan stopped and showed his hands. Deputies then found a bent fork jammed into the ignition.

Court Appearance
Investigators say Sheridan later told them he thought the squad vehicle was his girlfriend and did not notice the flashing lights right away. He appeared in court Friday afternoon on charges of fleeing and tampering with a motor vehicle.
