DUNN TOWNSHIP, OTTER TAIL COUNTY (trfnews.i234.me) – A frightening afternoon collision occurred on June 25, 2025, along Highway 59 at Pelican Drive in Dunn Township when an 80-year-old Florida man reportedly fell asleep behind the wheel of his 2020 Lincoln Navigator, smashing into a Honda CR-V that was making a right turn.
The Navigator and CR-V, driven by Ross Brian Johnson of Miramar Beach, FL, and Paul James Lykken of Pelican Rapids, MN, respectively, were both headed southbound when the incident unfolded.
Both vehicles deployed airbags, and both drivers were transported to Essentia Health in Detroit Lakes with non-life-threatening injuries. Alcohol was not involved, and road conditions were reported as dry.
Emergency response came from Ringdahl EMS and Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office.
