Otter Tail–Becker: Search Continues for Joshua Ard

Otter Tail County (trfnews.i234.me) — The Fergus Falls Police Department, working with the Otter Tail and Becker County Sheriff’s Offices, continues to investigate the disappearance of 45-year-old Joshua Ard of Fergus Falls.

Ard was reported missing and endangered on August 4, 2025. Family and friends said they had not seen or heard from him since mid to late June. Investigators believe his last known location may have been in the rural Frazee area, near the Otter Tail and Becker county line.

Authorities have conducted extensive land, air, and water searches. Teams used drones, all-terrain vehicles, and specialized K-9 units. Numerous officers and volunteers aided the search effort. Despite the wide search area, Ard has not been located.

Police say there is no known threat to the public. At this time, foul play is not suspected. The missing and endangered investigation remains active and is led by Fergus Falls Police. Detectives are reviewing tips, checking new leads, and coordinating with partner agencies.

With hunting and harvest seasons underway, officials ask people in the area to stay alert. If you notice anything unusual, call your local law enforcement. Small details may help. Look for personal items, clothing, or signs of a recent camp. Note dates, times, and precise locations before you call.

Anyone with information about Joshua Ard’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Fergus Falls Police Department or a local sheriff’s office. If you wish to share a tip after hours, you may also use statewide resources. Minnesota’s public safety pages explain how to report a missing adult and what details help investigators.

If you have immediate information, call 911. For non-emergencies, contact the Fergus Falls Police Department or the Otter Tail or Becker County Sheriff’s Offices.
