Ongoing Investigation to Identify Individual Discovered in Red River in Grand Forks

GRAND FORKS, ND (trfnews.i234.me) The investigation continues as to who was found in the Red River at Grand Forks on Saturday evening.
as inews first reported saturday evening a body was found here along the pedestrian bridge over the red river by riverside park in grand forks tangled in some logs police didn’t identify the person as male or female und forensics will identify the body that could be a short process or a long one we’ll have that for you as soon as identification is released in the meantime there are a couple of recent possibilities so one happened on april 8th by downtown a witness told 911 they saw a person in the river and then lost sight of them grand forks and polk county sheriff’s offices along with the grand forks of east grand forks fire departments continue searching for an individual that may have gone in the red river at approximately 8 a.m this morning north of the demers avenue surly bridge search teams are using sonar equipped boats and drag lines to search the area the identity of the individual is not known at this time now no one was ever found during that search and it was never determined whether there was any specific missing person connected to that incident now one other recent possibility is this man 32 year old jacob lasley of red lake minnesota he was last seen on april 12th at the mission in grand forks it was believed that he was attempting to make it home to red lake minnesota i was just contacted by a relative who was wondering if any identification has been made yet on the incident from a saturday so at this point it’s uh wait and see what the the forensic lab comes up with the id for a person found in the red river and grand forks on saturday i’m Neil Berg reporting for trfnews.i234.me
