RED LAKE COUNTY (trfnews.i234.me) — A 24-year-old Oklee man is facing multiple charges following a domestic incident that turned violent late on September 28th, according to a criminal complaint filed in Red Lake County District Court.

Noah Patrick Johnson has been charged with felony threats of violence and misdemeanor domestic assault after deputies responded to his residence on Lambert Street in Oklee around 11 p.m. Sunday.

According to the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office, dispatchers received a report of a man suffering from a self-inflicted cut. Due to the nature of the call, deputies asked Oklee Ambulance to stage nearby until the scene was determined safe.

When deputies arrived, they spoke with Johnson’s grandmother, who reported that Johnson and his boyfriend had been in a fight. Inside the home, deputies found Johnson seated on a couch with a deep laceration to his left arm and a large amount of blood in the kitchen. The victim was found outside on the porch.

According to the criminal complaint, Johnson admitted to being the primary aggressor during the argument, which reportedly began over accusations of infidelity. He told deputies that he pulled the victim’s hair, bit him, and hit him. When the victim tried to leave, Johnson followed him outside, then returned inside to grab a knife.

Johnson allegedly threatened the victim by swiping the knife toward him and saying he would kill him before cutting his own arm. He told deputies that he cut himself “as a stress reliever” and did not intend to cause serious injury. The victim told officers he acted in self-defense and showed visible bite marks, one of which was bleeding, but declined medical care.

Deputies documented the scene with photographs and body camera footage. A knife was recovered from the kitchen sink and entered into evidence. Johnson was treated by Oklee Ambulance and transported to Sanford Medical Center in Thief River Falls for stitches before being booked at the Tri-County Community Corrections facility.

Johnson appeared in Red Lake County Court on charges of Threats of Violence – Reckless Disregard Risk and Domestic Assault – Intent to Inflict Bodily Harm. The felony charge carries a potential penalty of up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
