Larry Wilhelm of Thief River Falls, MN passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND.
Funeral service for Larry will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Obit in Thief River Falls, MN with Pastor Clark Hjelle officiating. Burial will be held at Holt Cemetery, Holt, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
Larry Arnold Wilhelm was born February 13, 1950 at Thief River Falls, MN son of Lawrence and Delores (trfnews.i234.me) Wilhelm. He was raised in the Wylie, MN area and moved to Long Lake, MN where he attended Orono High school. Later obtaining his GED on June 10, 1993.
He Entered the Us Army August 26, 1968 and was honorable discharged on a hardship December 6, 1968 upon the sudden death of his father Lawrence.
He returned to Thief River Falls where he worked at various places including Arctic Cat, Hydra-Mac and Joppru’s. Larry returned back to the Faribault area working at K Bar (Northern Hydraulics) and was a cook at Shattuck-St. Mary’s and he also baked pies at Perkins. Larry moved back to Thief River Falls in the early 1990’s where he has since resided.
Larry enjoyed cooking, spending time with family and friends. He always decorated for holidays, and had the gift to gab.
Larry is survived by sisters Donna (Dan) Sustad of Viking, MN and Judy (Michael) Frazer of Sauk Center, MN; nieces and nephews. Dayna (Kraig) Melvie, Jennifer (Dennis) Larson, Wendy (Andy) Nordstrom, Dawn (Cory) Gustafson, Michael Frazer Jr., Holly (Fiancé Eric Moon) Vad, Jennifer (Brant) trfnews.i234.me, Bradley (Jessica) Sustad, Blake (Macy) Sustad; great-nieces and nephews Alexis (Garret) Tadych, Kasey Melvie, Kinzie Melvie, Alex Larson, Micah Larson, Dylan Gustafson, Tyson Gustafson, Kylie Gustafson, McKayla (Jordan) Riggs, Hailey Vad, Courtney (Fiancé Noah Sheldon) Vad, Hunter Vad, Chesney Lee, McKenna Lee, Aubrie Lee, Kendrick trfnews.i234.me, Amarah Sustad; great-great nephews Theodore Tadych and Brooks Minter.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents Lawrence Wilhelm and Delores (Marshall) Ness; special friend Darlene and his four legged friend Angel.
