DRISCOLL, N.D. (trfnews.i234.me) – A multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 94 near Driscoll, North Dakota, early Monday morning left five people injured and 25 cattle dead. The accident occurred when cattle wandered from a nearby pasture onto the highway under an overpass, causing a semi-truck, an SUV, and a car to collide with the animals.
The semi-truck, driven by a 57-year-old man from Edmore, North Dakota, tipped over after veering into the median. A small fire broke out but was quickly extinguished. Fortunately, the truck driver was not injured.
The 26-year-old woman driving the SUV, along with four passengers in the car—a 41-year-old woman, a 20-year-old man, a 16-year-old boy, and a 13-year-old girl, all from Bigelow, Minnesota—sustained minor injuries and were transported to Bismarck hospitals for treatment.
Both lanes of I-94 were rerouted for several hours as authorities worked to clear the scene.
