North Country Food Bank to hold produce distribution event Thursday in East Grand Forks – Obituary

EAST GRAND FORKS – The North Country Food Bank is holding a free produce distribution event Thursday, Oct. 3, in East Grand Forks.

The distribution is set for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the parking lot of the Civic Center, 300 15th St. N.E. No appointments necessary.

“We ask that people provide their own bags for packing,” said Scott Johnson, development director for the North Country Food Bank. “Everyone is welcome.”

“People can simply show up and pack their own produce,” Johnson said.

Produce totes will be placed in the parking lot for people to take whatever they can use.

Participants will be asked to fill out a short form for statistical purposes, he said. “This allows us to include additional food on the distribution that would otherwise not be available.”

The North Country Food Bank is based at 1011 11th Ave. N.E., East Grand Forks.
