Norma Elaine Petsinger, age 94, currently of Grand Forks, ND, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks.
Norma was born July 9, 1929 on the family farm near Perth, North Dakota to Hilma and Jacob Juntunen. She married Wayne Petsinger on June 20, 1948 and they were blessed with 61 years of marriage and five children. They farmed in the Rock Lake area until 1966 when they began farming in the Arvilla, ND area. Norma enjoyed taking walks, gardening, doing handwork and playing with grandchildren.
Norma was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to others. Her family and friends describe her as a kind and caring person who put others ahead of herself and treated everyone with respect. Norma lived her life enjoying what was important to her; having faith in Jesus, being on the farm, and caring for her family. Norma was a member of Trinity Free Lutheran Church in Grand Forks.
Norma was survived by her children, Gloria (Keith) Olson of Plano, TX., Connie (Gary) Kleven of Grand Forks, Duane (Martha) Petsinger of Arvilla, Ronald (Cindy) Petsinger of Arvilla, Linda (Mike) Leddige of Boise, Idaho, fourteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne, her parents, and eight brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at Trinity Free Lutheran Church, 3426 Chestnut St., Grand Forks. Visitation will be for the hour before the service in the church. Burial will be in Memorial Park South Cemetery, Grand Forks. Arrangements are with Amundson Funeral Home of Grand Forks.
