NDSU Softball Season Ends With 5-2 Loss to Kansas City.

BROOKINGS, S.D. – North Dakota State softball’s season came to a close Wednesday afternoon after falling to Kansas City 5-2 in an elimination game at the Summit League Championships at Jackrabbit Softball Stadium.

The Bison would get two runners on in the top of the first, but were unable to capitalize on early base hits. Kansas City would then load the bases and get a run on a walk in the second, before capitalizing on an error to score three runs in the third.

NDSU would answer back with two runs in the fifth, as Reanna Rudd hit a sacrifice fly to score Ella Claus, before Zoe King recorded an RBI single to score Emilee Buringa.

However, it wouldn’t be enough as the Bison were held scoreless the rest of the way despite outhitting Kansas City 8-7 in the game. The Roos added a run in the bottom of the fifth after a second error from the Bison defensively.

Claus led the Bison offense, going 3-for-3 at the plate with two doubles and a run scored. All three Bison seniors reached twice. Anjolee Aguilar-Beaucage recorded two hits, Emilee Buringa had two walks and a run scored, and Rudd had a hit and a walk along with the sac fly RBI.
