FARGO, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – Just hours after making his debut for North Dakota State University’s football team, 19-year-old Jaiden Pickett found himself behind bars, facing multiple felony charges following a shooting at a Fargo house party. The incident occurred early Sunday morning after Pickett, a redshirt freshman linebacker from Milwaukee, played in NDSU’s blowout victory over Tennessee State.
Fargo police responded to reports of shots fired around 1 a.m. at the 1200 block of 11th Street North. According to authorities, an argument broke out during the party, leading to a gun being fired into a home. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. However, the situation quickly escalated, and Pickett was arrested on charges of terrorizing with a dangerous weapon, reckless endangerment with extreme indifference, and gun theft-possession.
Although Pickett did not play in NDSU’s season opener against Colorado, he made his first appearance during Saturday’s game. The shocking news of his arrest has sent ripples through the NDSU community. Head coach Tim Polasek declined to comment, stating that the investigation is still ongoing. The university confirmed Pickett’s status as a student-athlete but referred all inquiries to Fargo police.
As the investigation unfolds, the Fargo Police Department continues to gather details about the shooting.
