greater grand forks is hopping rolling into this saturday night traffic control codes here on 42nd street uh getting ready for the country music star alan jackson on stage at the alaris center this evening and over on the east grand forks side of the river it’s the cat’s incredible tournament we got folks from all over the country in town for that catching those monsters of the deep and the cats incredible tournament it’s all meant a full house at one of the area’s most popular campgrounds the state recreation area campground just on the north side of downtown of east grand forks they are packed they are full well we only have 113 sites we have 113 sites are booked oh really a group site it has the boy scouts from 37 is that the rate i want to make sure i get the right troop number 37 um they’re in that group site because they help with the catfish tournament they go down and help release all the catfish back in so that’s full and all our walk-ins we just sold the last walk-in just a little while ago um we’ve been having to turn people away um with the allen jackson concert and the catfish days um besides people just camping that don’t didn’t realize that stuff was going on yeah how’s the overall summer been i mean like compared to last year well we got open extremely late because of the flood um but we’re still for july um just when i counted this up a couple you know like yesterday or whatever um we were almost 400 up from last year for july okay so yeah so people are out and about again yep they’re out and about yeah we have the canadians back um a lot of other just users that love the you know the trails here so so rolling into a beautiful weather on a saturday evening in greater grand forks i’m Neil Berg reporting for trfnews.i234.me
