ROCHESTER, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – The Rochester Police Department discovered the bodies of a mother and her son with gunshot wounds during a welfare check on Thursday night, June 27. Officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Sandbar Court Northeast and found the 30-year-old son and his 54-year-old mother inside the son’s apartment.
According to a press release from RPD, “The bodies had been there for some time.” Officers also recovered a handgun near the son’s body, and no other individuals are being sought in connection with the case. Initial investigations suggest the deaths were the result of a homicide and a suicide.
The names of the mother and son have not been released at this time.
