Moorhead Man Charged After High-Speed Police Chase
Moorhead, Minnesota (trfnews.i234.me) — Duane William Moberg faces two charges after an alleged high-speed police pursuit.
The case was filed in Clay County District Court under case number 14-CR-26-3495.
Moberg is charged with felony fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle.
He also faces a misdemeanor reckless driving charge.
Police Say Driver Fled
According to the complaint, police were searching for Moberg because of active warrants.
Investigators knew Moberg was associated with a black 2012 Lincoln MKZ.
Police later saw the vehicle near an address linked to Moberg.
An officer identified Moberg sitting in the driver’s seat, according to the complaint.
A marked squad vehicle then approached and activated its emergency lights.
Prosecutors say Moberg looked toward the squad vehicle before driving away.
The complaint says he drove around the squad vehicle while trying to leave the area.
Pursuit Reached High Speeds
Police began pursuing Moberg through Moorhead, according to the complaint.
The vehicle allegedly reached speeds between 70 and 80 miles per hour.
Prosecutors say Moberg drove through several intersections at high speed.
He also allegedly failed to obey stop signs and yield signs.
The pursuing officer later ended the chase because of concerns about public safety.
The complaint does not report a crash during the pursuit.
Felony Fleeing Charge
Count One charges Moberg with felony fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle.
The charge falls under Minnesota Statute 609.487.
The complaint lists a maximum sentence of three years in prison.
The charge also carries a possible $5,000 fine, or both penalties.
Reckless Driving Charge
Count Two charges Moberg with reckless driving.
That charge falls under Minnesota Statute 169.13.
The misdemeanor carries a maximum penalty of 90 days in jail.
It also carries a possible $1,000 fine, or both penalties.
The complaint lists August 28, 2026, as the offense date for both charges.
However, parts of the probable cause statement list August 28, 2028.
That date conflicts with the charge information contained in the same court filing.
Court Case Pending
The complaint was filed with a warrant in Minnesota’s 7th Judicial District.

The charges are allegations and do not establish guilt.
Moberg is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
