Moorhead (trfnews.i234.me) – A Fargo woman is charged with felony fleeing after a traffic stop in Moorhead, court records say.

The defendant is Ashley Grace Frenick of Fargo.

Moorhead is in Clay County, Minnesota.

Stop and crash

A Minnesota State Patrol trooper tried to stop Frenick on Dec. 20, according to the criminal complaint.

The trooper reported seeing a vehicle with no license plates, the complaint says.

Investigators say Frenick did not pull over.

They say she fled in her vehicle.

Records say the vehicle reached about 74 mph in a 40 mph zone.

The complaint says the roads were icy.

It says Frenick lost control and crashed.

She was arrested after the crash, according to court documents.

Charge details

Prosecutors charged Frenick with fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle.

That offense is a felony under Minnesota law.

The main fleeing law is Minnesota Statute 609.487.

Under that statute, a conviction can bring prison time and a fine.

The law lists a maximum of three years and one day in prison.

The law also lists a maximum fine of $5,000.
