Minnesota Man Faces Major Drug Charges After Failed Meth Deals: Pleads Not Guilty

PENNINGTON COUNTY, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – A Viking, Minnesota man, Jeremy Aaron Tostrup, 27, waived his preliminary hearing on Tuesday, June 4, and pleaded not guilty to two controlled substance crimes in Pennington County. Tostrup faces charges of third-degree controlled substance sale and conspiracy to commit a first-degree controlled substance crime, each carrying a maximum 20-year sentence.

According to the probable cause statement, on December 5, Tostrup sold 3.1 grams of methamphetamine to a confidential informant for $150 near Phillips Iron & Metal Inc. in Thief River Falls. On January 5, Tostrup allegedly agreed to deliver more methamphetamine for $500 but failed to do so, offering to return the money via Cash App. The transaction was unsuccessful, and further attempts to contact Tostrup were fruitless.

During the June 4 hearing, Tostrup’s bond was reduced from $300,000 to $150,000. A pre-trial hearing is set for June 12 at 2 p.m.
