In a shocking case from Mounds View, Minnesota (trfnews.i234.me), 35-year-old Michael Bruce Gillis faces federal charges after allegedly using a fake identity to chat with a teenager online and subsequently sexually assaulting him. The investigation began when family members found recent conversations between the teen and “Nick Miller,” who identified himself as being interested in younger individuals.

The two agreed to meet, and since the victim could not drive, Gillis ordered a ride-share service to pick him up and transport him to the meeting location. Later that day, officers performed a welfare check at the address associated with the ride and found the teen nearby on foot. He reported that “Nick Miller” had sexually assaulted him and that he had escaped after the suspect fell asleep.

Gillis was identified as the suspect and taken into custody, now facing one count of coercion and enticement of a minor and one count of production of child sexual abuse material. He remains detained pending further proceedings. Federal officials emphasized their commitment to aggressively prosecuting such cases, with Acting United States Attorney Lisa Kirkpatrick stating, “Child predators are clear and present dangers to the children of Minnesota.”

Special Agent in Charge Alvin Winston Sr. of the Federal Bureau of Investigation called Gillis’s conduct “deliberate” and “predatory,” adding that it caused “significant harm and trauma” to the victim.
