UNDERWOOD, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – Damarius Reyshawn-John Blount, a Minnesota resident, is facing serious charges after being accused of stealing firearms and ammunition from a home in Underwood this week. The charges against him include theft, unlawful possession of a firearm, and shipping weapons as a felon in Otter Tail County. If convicted, he could be sentenced to more than 20 years in prison.

The incident unfolded when the sheriff’s office received a 911 hang-up call from a residence on Phelps Mill Rd. Deputies arrived to find signs of forced entry, including a punched-out lock on the door. Although no one was initially found inside the home, deputies discovered suspicious items, including drugs, paraphernalia, and firearm accessories, along with a backpack containing firearms and ammunition.

Further investigation revealed that Blount, known to the homeowner as her daughter’s friend, had previously stayed at the residence. With the help of a K9 unit, deputies located Blount nearby in a ditch and arrested him on the spot, including on an active warrant for burglary.

Blount’s first court appearance is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. on Friday, April 5.

The case underscores the seriousness of firearm-related crimes and the swift action taken by law enforcement to apprehend suspects.
