Why did you not mention the tax trump put on all ships that were manufactured in China? Each ship that was manufactured, in China, will be charged from $50,000 to $1 million for each port it goes to, including those working the Great Lakes. It will cause those ship to go to Canadian ports, hurting US ports.

As explained by President Trump, the tariffs are not an immediate fix, merely a first step in bringing jobs, wealth and security back to the United States of America. Both MN and ND, and virtually every other state stand to benefit.
By relying on our own workforce, we are liberated from being dominated by foreign countries for the very things we NEED. Natural resources like iron ore, copper, nickel, coal, oil and natural gas, along with all the goods that depend on those resources to be produced. And the security of knowing our technology and medications will be made by companies that have an interest in wanting America to succeed, instead of countries that gain from undermining the USA, and funding their own corruption. I find it appalling that we import the vast majority of our critical medications from communist China – it is insane to rely on a known enemy to supply us with the drugs that keep Americans alive.
Additionally, all these benefits make all of America more prosperous in the long run. It will take some time, and there will be some initial challenges, but the path we were on would have lead to no other conclusion than the collapse of America. And since the USA has far better environmental practices than virtually every other foreign nation, by manufacturing domestically, we can ensure that we are protecting the Earth in a far more ethical manner than countries that do not subscribe to best practices for protecting our environment, while we produce a superior product.
Let President Trump execute his plans and then we can all enjoy the Golden Age of America for generations to come.
